유아의 신체활동 향상에 대한 공공실외 놀이터의 친환경성 및 질적수준에 관한 연구

초록

본 연구의 목적은 공공기관에서 운영관리 되는 실외 놀이터의 자연친화성과 질적 수준에 대하여 살펴보고 유아의 역동적인 놀이가 가능한 실외놀이 환경 구성을 위한 방안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 연구의 대상은 서울특별시 Y구에 위치한 공공 실외 놀이터 44개소였다. 통계방법으로는 기술통계, 관찰자간 일치도 분석, 카이자승 검증, 독립 표본 t 검증방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실외 놀이터의 질적 수준을 살펴본 결과 전체적으로 보통 수준이거나 다양한 놀이 자료 및 경험의 제공이 낮은 것으로 나타났으며 상대적으로 중, 대규모의 놀이터가 소규모의 놀이터보다 다양한 놀이기구 및 경험이 제공되는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 실외 놀이터의 친환경적인 요소를 분석한 결과 기존 자연형 녹지 보존, 자연지형의 활용, 물놀이 공간 등의 조성 정도가 매우 낮은 것으로 나타났으며 식재공간 및 화단은 조성되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 바닥 재질은 모래, 목재, 친환경적인 탄성재료, 천연, 재활용 재료들을 사용하는 빈도가 낮았다. 마지막으로 놀이기구 제질은 목재, 로프, 재활용 재료들을 사용하기 보다는 금속, 플라스틱 재료 등이 주로 사용되었다. 마지막으로, 본 연구결과를 토대로 유아를 위한 실외 놀이터 구성을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the nature-friendliness and qualitative level of outdoor playgrounds operated and managed by public institutions, and to find a plan for constructing an outdoor play environment that enables children to play dynamically. The subjects of this study were 44 public outdoor playgrounds located in Y-gu, Seoul. Descriptive statistics, agreement between observers, chi-square, and independent sample t test were used as statistical methods. The findings of the study are as follows: First, as a result of examining the qualitative level of outdoor playgrounds, it was found that the overall level was moderate or that the provision of various play materials and experiences was low, and it was found that relatively medium-sized playgrounds provided a variety of rides and experiences than small-sized playgrounds. Second, as a result of analyzing the eco-friendly elements of outdoor playgrounds, it was found that the conservation of existing natural green spaces, utilization of natural terrain, and creation of water play spaces were very low. Planting spaces and flower beds have been created. As for the floor material, sand, wood, eco-friendly elastic materials, natural and recycled materials were used infrequently. Lastly, metal and plastic materials were mainly used for playground equipment rather than wood, rope, and recycled materials. Finally, based on the results of this study, implications for the construction of an outdoor playground for young children were presented.
