청소년의 생활사건스트레스가 자살생각에 미치는 영향: 부모자녀 의사소통 양식의 조절효과

본 연구는 청소년의 생활사건스트레스가 자살생각에 미치는 영향과 부모자녀 의사소통 양식의 조절효과를 알아보았다. 생활사건스트레스는 가정스트레스, 학업스트레스, 선생님스트레스로 구별되었다. 부모자녀 의사소통 양식에 대해서는 부와 모를 구별한 후, 각각 개방적 및 폐쇄적 양식으로 구별하였다. 연구대상자는 중고생 707명(중학생 301, 인문계 고등학생 229, 특성화 고등학생 177)이었으며, 이들은 자살생각척도, 생활사건스트레스 척도, 부모자녀 의사소통 양식 척도에 응답하였다. 응답자의 반응을 회귀 분석한 결과, 생활사건스트레스는 자살생각에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 청소년과 부모자녀 의사소통 양식에서는 집단별로 상이한 결과가 나왔다. 중학생과 인문계 고등학생에서는 부와 모의 개방적 및 폐쇄적 의사소통 양식이 자살생각에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나 특성화고등학생에서는 부와 모의 개방적 의사소통 양식만이 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 부모자녀 의사소통 양식의 조절효과는 중학생에게만 나타났다. 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 이후 연구에 대한 시사점이 논의되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effects of parent-adolescent communication style on the relationship of life-event stress and adolescents’ suicidal ideation. The life-event stress was classified into household stress, study stress and teacher stress. The parent-adolescent communication styles were classified into open and closed style, respectively, of father and mother. Total 707 students (301 middle school, 229 academic high school, and 177 technological high school students) were surveyed with suicidal ideation scale, life-event stress scale, and parent-adolescent communication style scale. Regression analysis revealed that all the three types of life-event stress were statistically significant. But the effects of the adolescent-parent communication styles varied according to the school types. With the middle and academic high school students, the open and closed communication style had effects on the suicidal ideation of adolescents. On the contrary, with the technological high school students, only the open communication styles of father and mother had such effects. The suicidal ideation of middle schoolers was moderated by the communication styles of their parents. Implications and limitations of this study, and direction for the future research were discussed.
