태권도 경기 품새의 사회현상 규명을 위한 질적연구

본 연구는 빅데이터를 활용하여 2018 자카르타-팔렘방 아시안게임 태권도 경기에 대한 언론보도를 분석하고, 경기를 참여하고 바라본 사람들의 인식을 통해 태권도의 현주소를 알아보고 앞으로의 태권도 품새의 발전방향을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 1차적으로 언론보도의 데이터 수집 사이트인 카인즈를 통해 데이터를 확보 하였으며, 빅데이터 분석 프로그램을 통해 분석하였다. 또한 기사 분석으로 파악되지 못한 현장을 알기 위해 태권도 경기 참여자 2명과 현장 참여자 3명에게 품새 경기를 본 인식을 인터뷰를 통한 2차 연구를 진행하였다. 빅데이터 분석 결과 태권도는 1615건의 단어가 표출된 것에 반해, 비각은 31건, 나르샤는 18건, 새별 14건, 힘차리 13건, 심지어 새 품새는 7건, 자유품새는 5건 밖에 보도되지 않았고 이는 아직 새로 도입된 품새 자체에 대한 언론 및 대중의 관심이 현저히 떨어진다는 것이며 2차 연구 결과 새 품새나 자유품새의 개발과 도입은 좋지만 이로 인한 부상의 노출 등의 단점의 대처방안도 반드시 필요하다는 의견이 나왔다. 결국 지속적인 대회 개최 및 미디어 노출을 통해 품새경기를 대중화 시키고 선수들이 다치지 않을 수 있게 체계적인 경기 규정과 경기 운영 방법을 수정해야 한다고 사료된다.
Abstract
This research has purpose to seek the ways to develop the Taekwondo Poomsae through knowing the perceptions on the current Taekwondo Poomsae games of public and people who participated organizing the Taekwondo Poomsae games by big data analysis and in-depth interview method. This research is divided into two parts. In the first part, in order to know the perceptions of publics regarding Taekwondo Poomsae games in 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, the researchers extracted keywords from media reports by big data analysis. In the second part, for complementing the lack of results from part one, the researchers asked the experiences, comments and suggestions of people who actually joined Taekwondo Poomsae games and people who organized the games in 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games. In the results of part one, compared to the word ‘Taekwondo’ has appeared for 1615 times in media report during 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, the following words appeared for few times: ‘Bigak’ 31 times, ‘Nareusya’ 18 times, ‘Saebyeol’ 14 times, ‘Himchari’ 13 times, ‘new Poomsae’ 7 times, and ‘free style Poomsae’ 5 times. The researchers able to know that the media and public is not interested in Taekwondo Poomsae games. In second part, the most of people who joined the Taekwondo Poomsae games in 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games mentioned that developing new Poomsae and adopting free style Poomsae were good try but alternatives for injuries and other weaknesses are essential. Therefore, for popularizing Taekwondo Poomsae competitions, it must be continuously exposed in media and also the competition must held frequently. In addition, game organizers must fix the game rules and game management to prevent athletes’ injuries.
