다문화 배경 학습자를 위한 KSL 교육의 정체성

초록

Our society, while a sharp increase in the number of learners in a multicultural background has been receiving increasing attention for the ‘Teaching Korean as a second language’. But it did not work properly define the concept of KSL(Korean as a second Language) education. So in this paper we will explore identity issues what is KSL education for people from diverse cultural backgrounds of learners in our public school systems. We will examine the work through a review of ‘top to bottom’ being promoted in a series of government KSL Education policies based on Phenomenological approach. KSL education for learners of multicultural backgrounds is based on enhancing basic interpersonal communicative skills, cognitive academic langauge proficiency, and intercultural competence. For this reason, KSL education has a different identity from Korean as a foreign language or Korean as a heritage language education. In order to establish a firm academic identity as a whole field of study, KSL education based on the interdisciplinary nature of the field need to challenge and diversify research topic such as KSL Listening, speaking, reading, and writing pedagogy, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, developing KSL curriculum and KSL textbooks, error analysis of learners of diverse cultural backgrounds, language awareness and identity issues of these learners.

Abstract
