인터넷 기업환경이 유비쿼터스로 발전하면서 정보통신기술의 응용분야 및 부가가치는 점차 커지고 있다. 이에 앞으로 정보보호산업은 IT의 신성장산업으로 등장하여 급속한 성장을 이룰 것으로 예상된다. 그러나, ‘소 잃고 외양간 고친다’는 속담이 있듯이 정보보호시스템에 대한 과소한 투자환경은 향후 정보통신산업의 성장에 중요한 걸림돌이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국의 정보보호산업의 제품과 서비스를 구체적으로 분류하고, 정보보호산업의 발전과정과 시장현황을 파악하였다. 또한, 한국은행(2007)의 산업연관분석을 사용하여 2007년부터 2012년까지 정보보호산업이 국내 산업에 미치는 경제적 파급효과를 분석하였다.(생산유발효과, 부가가치유발효과, 수입유발효과, 취업유발효과를 포함하여 분석하였다) 산업연관분석의 결과 정보보호산업의 경제적 효과는 정보통신 전체산업의 평균을 훨씬 상회하는 수준으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 정보보호산업을 발전시킬 수 있는 적절한 정책이 국가차원에서 효과적으로 개발되어야 하는 정책적 시사점을 제공하고 있다. 이는 또한 정보보호 관련 학계 및 연구계의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 연관 산업 및 관련 기업의 전략설정에 필요한 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
As the environment of Internet business is developed with ubiquitousness, the application and value of information technology (IT) are gradually growing. Accordingly, information security industry will become newly developing industry of IT industries, and is expected to be rapidly growing. However, as the proverb says 'after death, the doctor'. the environment of under-investment on information security system will be an important hurdle for the growth of IT industries in the future. This research classifies the products and services of information security industry in Korea, and examines the development process and current status of information security industry. It also analyzes the economic ripple effects (in terms of Production Inducement Effect, Added Value Inducement Effect, Import Inducement Effect, Labor Inducement Effect) of information security industry in Korea from 2007 to 2012, using an input-output analysis of the bank of Korea(2007). We show that the economic ripple effect of information security industry is much higher than the average effect of total IT industries. This result suggests that from the aspect of national level the appropriate industrial policy for information security industry should be developed. It is also expected that the results will be the basic resources of information security not only for academic research, but also for the strategies of firms and industries.
