관광서비스산업 전공대학생들의 진로와 학습에 관한 인식 연구
A Study of Perceptions of the College Students in Tourism-Related Majors toward Their Career Paths: Emphasized on the Analysis of Major Selection, Working Experiences, and Educational Effect

본 연구는 지역에 위치한 4년제 대학의 관광산업 관련학과 학부생들의 대상으로 그들의 전공학과 선택, 진로성향, 아르바이트성향 및 학업연계성과 등을 조사하여 상호연관성을 알아보기 위해 진행되었다. 2개 지역의 4개 대학에 재학 중인 총 600명의 대학생들을 조사하였으며, 최종 채택된 552부의 설문지를 분석하였다. SPSS 14.0 프로그램을 이용하여 통계자료를 분석하였고 조사대상자의 성별, 학년, 아르바이트 경력, 전공학과의 선택유형, 향후 진로에 대한 성향 등을 기준으로 분석결과를 비교하였다. 이를 위해 기초기술통계, t-검증, ANOVA 등의 분석기법이 사용되었다. 관광산업과 연관된 진로에 대한 성향은 성별, 학년과 아르바이트 활동유무에 따라 유의적인 차이를 보였다. 그리고 전공학과를 자신이 직접 결정한 학생들이 관광산업과 연계한 진로성향에 더욱 적극적이고 긍정적인 성향을 보였다. 대부분의 학생들이 아르바이트 활동이 자신들의 학업에 그다지 영향을 주지 않는다고 느끼는 것으로 조사되었으며, 대학에 요구하는 학생지원 방향은 취업에 대한 지원과 인턴십 활동에 대한 학점인정 등으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 대학입시에서 더욱 적극적이고 긍정적인 학생자원을 선발하는 것과 실용적인 교육프로그램의 운영 활성화, 실무적인 산학협동의 운용 등이 관광산업 관련학과들의 발전을 위해 제안되었다.
Abstract
This study was aimed to identify the perception of college students in tourism-related majors toward their career paths, and to understand basic status of their experiences in part-time works, willingness of major selection, educational effects on their study and preferences on the career services of their colleges. 4 local universities located in the Central and Eastern areas were selected and total of 600 students were surveyed for the study and finally 552 data was collected to be analyzed. According to their gender, grade, length of experience, willingness of the major selection, their perceptions towards the career paths were compared by using t-test and ANOVA with the version of SPSS 14.0. There were significantly different from gender, grade and experiences about their career paths partially in the tourism-related fields. Students who decided their majors by themselves had more positive perceptions and expectations on their career paths than other students. Most of students responded they had least stress and negative effects from the part-time works on their study. A primary expectation and preferences to the universities were career services and authorized credits to the internship program. Finally, more aggressive recruiting for new prospective students, more realistic and practical curriculum should be proposed, more cooperative relationship between school and industry should be formulated by the universities and faculties were recommended.
