Abstract

The main class of Kokga poetry genre is a scholar group of Choson dynasty. The thought is based on New confucianism and the actual geographical region is the everyday life space. And Kokga poetry stabilized a confucian view of nature, which was the basis of way of thinking and practical application of usual life in that era. Although Kokga poetry was affected by Zhuzi's Mooyeedoga, because it was written both in Yeon-Sijo and in Chinese poetry, this literary form got a position in the history of Korean literature. I can say the significance of the space of Kokga poetry in four points. First, the described space in Kokga poetry is the translator for the readers to understand the cultural landscape by writer's emotion and aesthetic opinion. Therefore this space opened a new literary status. Second, the space of Kokga poetry was built in the conception of the oriental garden.(Wonrim) It is divided into some parts according to the flow river stream. It gives us the moment of meditation of the pure nature. So it belongs to the third garden pattern. Third, the space of Kokga poetry reminds emotional meaning by Sansu-Reusang in usual life. In poetry works, the space changed into the space of Poongreu representation, the symbol of aesthetic life in nature. Fourth, literature and moral training became closely related in Kokga poetry, it contributed to develope 'moral training theory of literature.' In poetry works, that was expressed in the image of Dokson. Therefore Dokson is a moral conception of Poongreu and Poongreu is a aesthetic expression of Dokson.
