악학궤범 사상체계의 형성 배경과 성격

Abstract

Akhak kwebŏm 樂學軌範 (Guide to the Study of Music), compiled by Sŏng Hyŏn 成俔 in 1493, is the most representative of music treatises published in the early Chosŏn dynasty. In this paper the author will examine the formative background and character of thoughts appeared in the Akhak kwebŏm. The system of thoughts in Akhak kwebŏm is based on the Confucian thought which was influenced by the Chinese Yin-Yang theory and mathmatic theory. The formative background of thought may be summaried by the following three features: 1) Old Music, 2) Harmony, and 3) Nature. The character of thoughts in Akhak kwebŏm may be examined by such facts as music theory, court dance, musical instruments, ritual objects, etc. All these facts are based on the principle of the Chuyŏk 周易 (Book of Changes) including Yin-Yang, Five Elements, Eight Directions, Twelve Months, and so on.
