본 연구의 목적은 영유아의 연령에 따른 어머니 자녀기대감의 차이를 살펴보고, 어머니의자녀기대감이 일상생활규칙 및 영유아의 문제행동에 미치는 영향력에 대해 살펴보는 것이었다. 이를 위해 만 2세～5세 유아의 어머니 248명을 연구대상으로 선정하였고, 질문지를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 그리고 기술통계, ANOVA, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 어머니 자녀기대감의 하위영역인 사회적, 인지적 역량 기대에서 만 5세 유아에 대한 기대감이 어린 연령 유아 보다 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 자녀기대감은 일상생활규칙과 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 자녀기대감이 높을수록 사회-관습, 개인, 도덕, 실제성, 안전 순으로 규칙을 많이 부여하는 것으로 나타났다. 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 자녀기대감의 하위영역인 사회적, 인지적 역량 기대가 사회-관습적, 개인적 규칙에 유의미한 정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 자녀기대감은 낮은 상관점수였지만 유아의 내면화 문제행동과 유의미한 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타나, 자녀기대감이 높을수록 유아의 내면화 문제행동이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 자녀기대감은 유아의 외현화, 내면화 문제행동 모두에 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고, 자녀기대감의 하위영역 중 인지적 역량 기대감이 높을수록 유아의 외현화, 내면화 문제행동 모두 높게 나타났지만, 사회적 역량 기대감이 높을수록 유아의 내면화 문제행동은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 어머니의 자녀기대감이 일상생활규칙 및 영유아의 문제행동과 연관성이 있음을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of mothers’ expectation on their everyday rules and children’s behavior problems. Two hundred and forty eight mothers participated in the study and descriptive, correlation, multiple regression analysis were conducted. The results are as follows: first, the sub-factors of mothers’ expectation, social, and cognitive competence expectation varied according to the children’s age difference. Second, mothers’ expectation had a statistically significant positive correlation with mothers' everyday rules. Third, the sub-factors of mothers’ expectation, social, and cognitive competence expectation exerted a statistically significant positive influence on mothers’ everyday rules. Fourth, mothers’ expectation had a statistically significant positive correlation with children’s internalizing behavior problems. Fifth, mothers’ expectation exerted a statistically significant influence on children’s externalizing and internalizing behavior problems. The sub-factors of mothers’ expectation and cognitive competence expectation exerted a statistically significant positive influence on children’s externalizing and internalizing behavior problems, but social competence expectation exerted a statistically significant negative influence on children’s internalizing behavior problems.
