초록
Jocasta is no longer merely the object of Oedipus’s desire, but a subject who possesses her own desire. However, to be the subject of desire does not mean denying or repressing that desire, nor eliminating oneself through an act such as suicide. To be a subject of desire means being prepared to accept and take responsibility for consequences that desire may bring. Female subjectivity is fully realized only when a woman clearly recognizes what she desires with the willingness to bear consequences of that desire herself.
