사랑의(과) 주체에 대한 철학적 담론 - 니체, 바르트, 루만

이 글은 전통적 주체 개념에 대한 새롭고 급진적인 전환이 일어나는 니체의 사유에서 주체 개념의 현대적 성격을 분석하고 부각시키며, 이를 통해 20세기 후반 현대의 유럽철학에서 전개되었던 열정과 고통으로서의 사랑이라는 현상 이 어떤 담론의 역사를 거치는지 추적하고자 한다. 이때 사랑이라는 ‘현상 그 자 체에 대한 긍정’에 대한 논의에 이어(바르트의 <사랑의 단상>), 그 발생 및 구조, 그리고 사랑의 역사에 대한 체계이론적, 진화론적 분석을(루만의 <열정으로서 의 사랑>)의 핵심 테제를 다루어봄으로써, ‘사랑의 주체’ 및 사랑에 대한 철학적 담론의 역사에 대한 계보학적(발생학적) 접근 및 그 내적 역사적 메커니즘을 분 석하는 작업을 시도해 보고자 했다. 이때 바르트와 루만에게서 부각시키고자 하는 차이점은 사랑이라는 현상에 접근하는 각각의 방식이다. 이들이 전개하는 사랑에 대한 담론은 사랑의 (구조 의) 기호화 혹은 코드화라는 용어로 공통적으로 설명할 수 있는 가운데, 코드화 된 사랑의 구조가 공간성, 혹은 시간성(역사성)과 관련을 통해 접근하는 것인지 에 따라 분석방법이 구별될 수 있다. 즉 바르트의 코드화에서는 ‘사랑의 긍정의 과정’이 공간적 과정을 통해 서술된다. 바르트는 니체의 영향을 특히 강하게 받 은 가운데, 단상으로 흩뿌려진 글쓰기의 상태로서의 사랑의 주체의 상황을 생산적이고 창조적인 미시적 관계들로, 즉 중심도, 원형도, 기원도 목적지도 없는 역 동적인 힘들의 장들로 설명하고 있다. 이런 점에서 바르트의 사랑의 주체의 성 격은 니체적 의미에서의 ‘다관점적’으로 설명될 수 있다. 반면, 루만의 경우, 내 밀한 인간관계로서의 ‘사랑’이라는 현상은 커뮤니케이션을 전제하고 이를 통해 유지되는 것이라는 점에서 사랑 역시 자기지시적인 하나의 체계로 접근하고 분 석하고 있다. 이 루만의 입장에 따라 사랑을 ‘친밀관계라는 하나의 체계를 가능 하게 하는 상징적 코드’, 소통매체의 차원에서 접근하고 이 소통코드가 역사적으 로 변화해온 과정을 추적한다.
Abstract
This article begins with an introduction to Nietzsche’s critique of the concept of modern subject and the philosophical questions about love as posed in his critique. Then it deals with two important and influential philosophical works about love in the 20th century which are deeply inspired by Nietzsche’s thought: Barthes’s Fragments d’un discours amoureux and Luhmann’s Liebe als Passion. The philosophical discourses about love developed by them can be commonly explained by “semiologization” (Barthes) or “codification” (Luhman). Both being related to the structure of love, these two concepts differs according to whether the structure is of spatial or of temporal nature. Barthes, strongly influenced by Nietzsche, describes affirming love as a spatial process and the situation of a loving subject as a state of writing scattered into fragments, that is, as a field of dynamic forces with no center, no archetype, no origin, or no destination. In this respect Barthes’s loving subject has much to do with the perspectivism in the Nietzschean sense. On the contrary, Luhmann’s approach to love consists in distinguishing between different codifications from different times. Starting from his systems theory, he regards love as an intimate relationship which presupposes communication and is also maintained through it. In this sense it is an autopoietic and self- referential system. Luhmann’s book Liebe als Passion reconstructs the symbolic codes and media which enable this system of intimacy called ‘Love’ and traces its historical changes.
