중국 투자 중소기업의 외국비용 실증연구

초록

외국비용은 중소기업의 성공적인 중국 투자진출을 구조적으로 저해하고 있으며, 투자실패를 초래하는 주요 원인으로 지적되고 있으나, 관련 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 중국 투자 중소기업을 대상으로 외국비용의 존재 여부 및 실체를 규명하고 외국비용 해소 방안에 관해 실증분석을 실시하고 있다. 실증 분석결과, 중국 시장에 내재하고 있는 외국비용은 중국 투자 중소기업의 현지 경영을 어렵게 할 뿐만 아니라 투자성과에 부정적인 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 중국 투자 중소기업은 외국비용을 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 전략을 마련하고 한국 정부도 중국 정부와 협의체를 가동하여 외국비용으로 인한 중소기업의 어려움을 해소시켜 주기 위한 방안을 강화해야 할 것이다.

Abstract

This paper studies the identification of Korean SME’s LOF(liability of foreignness) and their strategy for mitigating LOF in China. This empirical study shows that Korean SMEs find themselves faced with LOF, which has structurally obstructed their access to the Chinese market and has negative influence on the profitability of the Korean subsidiaries in China. So Korean SMEs should establish investment strategies that take into consideration of LOF and the Korean government should help the Korean SMEs to ease their difficulties caused by LOFs in China.
