나훔서, 하박국서, 스바냐서의 메시지의 연관성: 하박국의 불평과 야웨의 답변을 중심으로

본 논문은 하박국의 두 번의 불평과 야웨의 두 번의 답변을 중심으로 나훔서, 하박국서, 스바냐서의 메시지가 서로 어떤 연관성을 가졌는지를 조사하는 데 목적이 있다. 이것을 위해 하박국의 두 번의 불평과 야웨의 두 번의 답변을 분석하고 이러한 분석에 기초하여 나훔서와 스바냐서의 내용과 구조와 표현을 분석하여 다음의 결론을 얻었다. 첫째로 하박국의 첫 번째 불평과 야웨의 답변은 철저하게 나훔서의 메시지와 밀접한 연관성이 있다는 것이다. 하박국은 ‘악인이 의인을 핍박하는데도 야웨께서 무관심하다’라며 야웨께 탄식하며 불평하였고, 이에 대해 야웨는 ‘갈대아 사람을 일으켜 그들을 심판할 것이라’고 답변하였다. 그런데 하박국서의 어디에도 갈대아 사람을 통한 악인의 심판이 언급되지 않는다. 오히려 나훔서에 갈대아 사람을 통한 악인의 심판이 자세하게 언급되고 있다. 이런 점에서 나훔서는 하박국의 불평과 야웨의 답변을 보강하는 역할을 한다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째로 하박국의 두 번째 불평과 야웨의 답변은 철저하게 스바냐서의 메시지와 밀접한 연관성이 있다는 것이다. 하박국은 ‘거룩하신 야웨께서 악인이 의인을 핍박하는데도 무관심하다’라며 불평하였고, 야웨는 ‘의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라’며 믿음의 중요성을 강조하였다. 그런데 이러한 거룩과 믿음의 문제가 하박국서에 전혀 언급되지 않는다. 오히려 하박국서의 뒤에 배치된 스바냐서에 유대인들의 거룩과 믿음의 문제가 자세하게 언급된다. 이런 점에서 스바냐서는 하박국의 두 번째 불평과 야웨의 답변에 대한 보충 설명이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 연관성은 나훔서와 하박국서와 스바냐서가 주전 620년 전후의 작품이라는 점과 12소예언서에서 이들이 연속적으로 배치되었다는 점에서 충분히 가능하다. 이런 점에서 본 연구는 나훔서, 하박국서, 스바냐서의 메시지의 연구에 큰 도움이 될 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between the messages of Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah, focusing on Habakkuk's two complaints and YHWH's two responses. For this purpose, Habakkuk's two complaints and YHWH's two responses were analyzed, and based on this analysis, the content, structure, and expressions of the books of Nahum and Zephaniah were analyzed, and the following conclusions were obtained. First, Habakkuk's first complaint and YHWH's answer are closely related to the messages of the Book of Nahum. Habakkuk lamented and complained to Yahweh, saying, ‘The wicked persecute the righteous, but Yahweh is indifferent.’ To this, Yahweh responded that he would raise up the Chaldeans to judge them. However, nowhere in the Book of Habakkuk is there any mention of the judgment of the wicked through the Chaldeans. Rather, the judgment of the wicked through the Chaldeans is mentioned in detail in the Book of Nahum. In this respect, the book of Nahum can be seen as reinforcing Habakkuk's complaint and YHWH's answer. Second, Habakkuk's second complaint and YHWH's answer are closely related to the messages of Zephaniah. Habakkuk complained, saying, ‘Holy YHWH is indifferent when the wicked persecute the righteous,’ and YHWH emphasized the importance of faith, saying, ‘The righteous will live by faith.’ However, these issues of holiness and faith are not mentioned at all in the Book of Habakkuk. Rather, the issue of Jewish holiness and faith is mentioned in detail in the Book of Zephaniah, placed after the Book of Habakkuk. In this respect, the Book of Zephaniah can be said to be a supplementary explanation to Habakkuk's second complaint and YHWH's answer. This connection is quite possible because the books of Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah were written around 620 B.C. and they are placed consecutively in the Twelve Minor Prophets. In this respect, this study will be of great help in studying the messages of Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah.
