Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology is driving sweeping innovation in the field of literature as well as in science and technology. In the face of the so-called "digital turn," the history of literature is being reconstructed in response to a new era request, while dismantling the system of the past. In the 2000s, the ideology of a single literary history with a total structure and authority became outdated. Nevertheless, in academia, projects for literary history continue to be pursued. The theses about history philosophy, including literature history, are actively being sought in the wake of the recent discourse on the deconstruction of literary history and the development of digital archive technology that can store, build and utilize literary materials. While the existing Korean literature history was based on a linear historical model, the current history of literature is gradually changing into a complex system model that overlaps and coexists with various aspects created by the minority. This reflects the reality that the Korean literature community has recently moved beyond the history of literature centered on national studies and pursued a multi-centered deconstruction that works through convergence between academic institutions. This trend is not center on a nation-state but connected to a diversified communities where minority literature, foreign literature, and multilingual literature coexist in a multi-layered manner. Realistically, the history of literature is gradually approaching the state of the archives. The humanities application of digital technology presents a new paradigm for the recording, organizing and storing of literary content. The history of literature in the new era is gradually approaching the task of creating through interdisciplinary exchanges and convergence. Furthermore, there is a need to specialize in ‘digital curation’ work that increases the value of data by reinterpreting and processing materials built in public libraries and others for use.
