A Review of Intramucosal and Intramuscular Whole Mount Nerve Staining Technique (Sihler's staining)

Sihler 염색방법은 신경분포를 관찰하기위한 전통적인 방법과는 다르게 슬라이드제작이 요구되지 않으며 ， 국소해부 없이 신경 주행 및 분포양상을 관찰할 수 있다. 이방법은 피부. 점막. 근육 및 기관 등 말이접신경섬유가 있는 조직부위는 적용 가능하다. 특히 Sihler 염색방법은 뼈대근육의근육속신경분포 양상을 묘사하기 위한 최고의 방법으로 생각된다. 근육의 말단부위로갈수록 신경가지의 굵기가 미세하기 때문에육안으로 관찰하기에는 수기를 통한 연구수행만으로 제한되며. 조직표본에 의한 추가적 인 연구가 수반되 어 야 한다. Sihler 염색방법을 통해 밝혀진 해부학적 지식은해부학자들 뿐만 아니라 생리학자 및 임상가에게 유용한 자료로 사용될 수 있다. 임상가들에게 근육절제와 힘줄이식과 같은 외과척 술식 및 보툴리늄톡신 주사 (BTX-A) 와 같은 주사요법을 효파적으로 적용하기위한 참고자료로 사용될 수 있으며， 전기생리학적 실험 수행 및 새로운 신경수술의개발을 위해서도 중요하다. 이 종설에서는 기초 및 임상 연구자들을위한 Sihler 염색방법을 상세히 기술하였으며， 역사. 장단점， 그리고 염색이 적용된적용 예를 추가적으로 기술하였다 .
