지역 문화 아카이빙으로서의 지명 조사, 그 현실과 과제 춘천시 서면 지명 조사 및 조사 결과를 중심으로

본 연구는 지역 문화 아카이빙의 관점에서 현재의 지명 조사가 가지는 현실적 문제들을비판적으로 검토하고 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위한 방안을 마련하는 것을 목적으로한다. 본 연구의 검토 대상이 되는 지명 조사는 춘천문화원 산하 춘천학연구소에서 진행하는 ‘춘천지명사전(가칭)’ 발간을 위한 한 부분으로서 이루어졌다. 본 연구자는 ‘서면’ 지역의 연구 책임자로서 10명의 공동연구원들과 함께 답사 및 집필을 진행하였으며 조사 기준에 따라, 최종적으로 약 420개 지명이 조사되었다. 지명 조사 과정 및 지명 조사의 결과로서 크게 ‘조사 방식’에 대한 문제와 ‘활용도’에 대한 문제를 지적하였다. 이후 타 기관 및 타 지역의 지명 조사 사업들과의 비교 대조를 통해 전자에 대한 해결 방안으로 ‘조사 항목의 세분화 및 정밀화’, ‘조사 양식의 정밀화’를제시하였다. 또한 후자에 대한 해결 방안으로 ‘포털사이트와의 연계’, ‘문화 관광 자원화’를 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 지역어, 지역문화 아카이브로서의 지명 연구가 보다 통합적인 연구로 발돋움할 수 있기를 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to critically review the practical problems of the current place name survey from the perspective of local cultural archiving and to come up with measures to solve these problems. The research data of this study is part of the “The place name of Chuncheon” data. Th is data was created by “The institute of Chuncheon studies,” an organization affiliated with “Chuncheon Cultural Center.” As a research director in the ‘Seomyeon’ area, this researcher conducted an exploration and writing with 10 joint researchers. As a result of the survey, about 420 nominations were finally surveyed. In the place name survey process and the result of the place name survey, the problem of ‘investigation method’ and the problem of ‘utilization’ were presented. Subsequently, ‘segmentation and refinement of survey items’ and ‘precision of survey forms’ were suggested as solutions to the former through comparison with place name survey projects in other institutions and other regions. In addition, ‘connection with portal sites’ and ‘cultural resourceization’ were suggested as solutions to the latter. Th rough this study, it is expected that the study of place name as an archive of local languages and local cultures can become a more integrated study.
