연천의 역사 유적과 지역 축제를 활용한 문화관광콘텐츠 개발과 그 활용 방안 개선에 관한 연구

본 연구는 경기도 연천군의 문화유산을 중심으로 관광콘텐츠로서의 활용 실태를 분석하고, 효과적인 문화관광콘텐츠 개발과 개선 방안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 연천은 선사시대 유적부터 근현대의 분단사까지 시기적으로 풍부한 문화 층위를 지니고 있으며, 지리적으로도 DMZ 접경이라는 특수한 환경을 가진 지역이다. 그러나 이러한 자원이 관광콘텐츠로 효과적으로 조직되고 활용되기 위한 조건은 아직 충분하지 않다. 이 연구는 문화관광콘텐츠의 개념과 구성요소를 정리한 뒤, 연천의 대표 관광 자산인 ‘연천 9경’과 지역 축제, 그리고 군사·생태·문화유산을 통합한 콘텐츠 운영 실태를 분석하였다. 아울러 관광 인프라, 주민 참여도, 홍보 체계 등의 구조적 문제를 지적하고, 디지털 기술의 도입, 스토리텔링 기반 콘텐츠 강화, 테마형 축제 운영, 주민 주도형 관광 모델 구축 등의 방향을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 향후 접경지역 관광 전략 수립에 있어 문화관광콘텐츠의 이론적·실천적 기반을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the current utilization of cultural heritage in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, as tourism content and propose effective strategies for developing and enhancing cultural tourism content. Yeoncheon is a historically and geographically unique area with abundant heritage spanning from the Paleolithic era to the modern history of division, situated along the DMZ border. However, its cultural assets have yet to be fully systematized or leveraged as integrated tourism content. The study begins by defining the concept of cultural tourism content and its components, followed by an in-depth analysis of Yeoncheon’s representative attractions—such as the “Yeoncheon Nine Scenic Views,” local festivals, and sites of ecological, military, and cultural value. It then identifies key structural issues, including infrastructural limitations, insufficient marketing, and weak community participation. Suggested improvements include digital technology adoption, strengthened storytelling, themed tourism festival development, and community-led sustainable models. This research provides both theoretical and practical foundations for the strategic planning of tourism in border regions.
