바겐자일의 ≪건반악기를 위한 6개의 협주곡≫ 중 1악장 형식에 관한 연구

오스트리아의 전고전주의 작곡가 바겐자일은 당시에는 유명하고 영향력 있는 음악가였으나 현재에는 잘 알려져 있지 않은 작곡가이다. 그는 20대의 나이에 비엔나 궁정 작곡가로 임명되어 평생 그 직책을 유지하였으며 작곡가뿐 아니라 뛰어난 건반 연주자로 그 실력을 인정받았던 음악가이다. 그의 ≪건반악기를 위한 6개의 협주곡≫은 초판이 1761년에 발행된 작품들로실제 작곡 시기는 그 이전일 것으로 추측된다. 본 논문은 그의 건반협주곡 작품들의 1악장 분석을 통하여 고전 협주곡 형식의 특징을 파악해 본다. 특히 고전 협주곡을 세 가지 유형으로 분류한 데이비스의 모델을 참고하여 그가 1760년대 건반협주곡에서 발견되는 유형이라고 주장한 세 번째 유형의 특징이 바겐자일의 건반협주곡에서도 나타나는지 형식 분석을 통하여 연구해 본다.
Abstract
Austrian pre-classical composer Wagenseil was a famous and influential musician at the time, but is nowadays a lesser known composer. However, he was appointed as a composer at the court of Vienna in his 20s and he remained in that post throughout his life. He was also considered as an outstanding keyboard player. His <Six Concertos for Keyboard Instrument> first published in 1761, and the actual date of composition would be earlier than that year. This paper finds out the characteristics of Classical concerto form by carefully analyzing the first movements of six concertos. In particular, referring to Davis’ model, who classifies classical concertos form into three types, this study investigate whether the traits of the third type that he claimed to be the type found in keyboard concertos in the 1760s also appears in Wagenseil’s keyboard concertos.
