Abstract

While a new organizational entity has begun to emerge at the Korean universities, their technology transfer has had a commercial trend. Also, their technology transfer contributes to the spread of technology and their increase in revenue. Despite these contributions of technology transfer to universities and companies, the performance analysis and the impact on the organization processes has so far been neglected. In this regard, this article tried a quantitative approach to the technology transfer office of Chonnam National University and as a qualitative approach in order to identify the key points in the successful technology transfer, interviewed with ten stakeholders (professors, college administrators, technology management team, university holding company, businessmen). As a result, first, whether professors start up or businessmen call for joint researches, they believe to smoothly be aided from the technology transfer office. Second, they are aware that the officers make bureaucratic approaches to most of problems. Accordingly, in case of JNU's technology transfer office, managing these obstacles is very important in the success of the organization.
