자기결정성 이론에 따른 대학생의 진로탐색 동기와 심리욕구가 대학만족도에 미치는 영향

초록

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 진로설정과 취업준비행동에 관련된 진로탐색 동기와 심리욕구가 향후 직장에서의 만족도와 연관된 졸업대학 만족도에 어느 정도의 영향을 미치는지 확인하여 대학에서의 구체적이고 적절한 학생 지원방안을 수립하고자 하는 것이다. 연구를 수행하기 위해 자기결정성 이론을 바탕으로 대학생의 외재적, 내재적 동기와 심리적 욕구(유능성, 자율성, 관계성)가 자신들의 졸업대학 만족도에 미치는 영향에 대한 선행연구들을 조사하였고, 한국고용정보원의 대졸자직업이동경로조사(GOMS) 데이터의 대학졸업자 18,801명 중 본 연구에서 필요한 설문에 모두 응답한 5,275명의 설문 내용을 구조방정식의 경로모형을 설정하여 가설을 검증하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같은데, 첫 번째로 대학생들의 내재적, 외재적 동기는 대학만족도에 모두 유의한 정(+)의 영향력을 보였다. 두 번째로 대학생들의 심리욕구인 자율성, 관계성, 유능성이 대학만족도에 미치는 영향에서는 유능성만이 정(+)적인 영향을 보였고, 관계성은 영향이 없었으며 자율성은 부(-)적 영향력이 있다고 나타났다. 세 번째로 간접효과 검증에서는 외재적 동기가 유능성을 거쳐 만족도에 정(+)적 영향이 있었으며, 내재적 동기는 유능성을 거쳐서는 정(+)적인 영향을, 그리고 자율성을 거쳐서는 부(-)의 영향을 대학만족도에 미치고 있었다. 이러한 연구의 결과로 볼 때 대학에서의 학생들의 진로탐색과 관련된 동기부여에서의 효과적 방안으로 학생들의 다양한 심리적 욕구들 중 자기효능감과 관련된 유능성을 향상시킬 수 있도록, 학생들이 설정한 진로와 전공 일치도에 따른 상호작용이 기대되는 전공수업의 커리큘럼 및 내용, 교수진의 능력과 열의, 수업의 방식 및 질적인 향상에 대한 대학 차원에서의 적극적인 개선방안 모색과 개입이 필요하다는 시사점을 설명할 수 있었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to establish a specific and appropriate student support methods at the graduating from colleges by checking to what extent college students’ career exploration motivation and psychological needs related to job satisfaction in the future. In order to conduct this study, based on the theory of self-determination, previous studies were investigated on the effect of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation and psychological needs(competence, autonomy, relatedness) of college students on their satisfaction with their graduating college. Of the 18,801 college graduates from the GOMS data of the Korea Employment Information Service, 5,275 people who answered all the questions required in this study were tested by establishing a path model of structural equations. The results of the study are as follows. First, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of college students showed a significant positive (+) effect on college satisfaction. Second, in the effects of autonomy, relatedness, and competence, which are psychological needs of college students, on college satisfaction, only competence showed a positive (+) effect, relatedness had no effect, and autonomy had a negative (-) effect. Third, in the indirect effect test, extrinsic motivation had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction through competence, intrinsic motivation had a positive (+) effect through competence, and a negative (-) effect through autonomy on college satisfaction. According to the results of this study, the degree of agreement between the career path and major set by the students so that they can improve the competence related to self-efficacy among the various psychological needs of students as an effective way to motivate students related to career exploration. It was possible to explain the implication that it is necessary to actively seek and intervene at the college level in terms of the curriculum and content of major classes that are expected to interact with each other, the faculty's ability and enthusiasm, and the method and quality of teaching.
