대학생들의 사회적 지지가 자기효능감과 전공만족도에 미치는 영향관계 연구- 자기효능감의 매개효과와 대인관계의 조절매개효과를 중심으로 -

초록

최근 우리 사회는 ‘지식’이 시장에서 경쟁력의 중심이 되고, 핵심역량으로 작용하는 ‘지식기반 사회’로 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 그러나 지식재산 창출의 요람으로서 역할을 담당해야 하는 대학에서 현재 대학생들은 많은 혼란과 갈등을 경험하고 있다. 이와 같은 혼란 중 상당 부분은 진로와 관련된 문제이고, 그 문제는 본인의 적성이나 흥미를 간과한 채 성적이나 경제적 상황, 미래 취업 가능성 등에 중점을 두고 전공을 선택함에 따른 적성, 가치관 그리고 선택전공 간의 불균형에 따른 결과일 것이다. 정부 및 대학은 현재 대학생들의 전공불일치에 대한 문제를 소극적으로 대응할 것이 아니라 다양한 환경적, 심리적 요인들을 파악하여 전공만족도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 강구하고, 올바른 진로개발에까지 연결될 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원할 의무가 있다. 본 연구에서는 외부환경으로부터 얻을 수 있는 유·무형적 자원인 사회적 지지와 자기효능감, 전공만족도 간의 영향관계를 규명하고, 사회적 요인인 대인관계의 조절효과까지 살펴봄으로써 환경적 요인, 심리적 요인, 그리고 대인관계와 같은 사회관계적 요소까지 종합적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 연구분석 결과 첫째, 사회적 지지는 자기효능감과 전공만족도에 유의한 영향관계를 미쳤고, 본 연구의 중요 매개변수인 자기효능감 역시 전공만족도에 유의한 결과를 나타냈다. 둘째, 사회적 지지와 전공만족도 간의 영향관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 사회적 지지가 자기효능감에 영향을 미칠 경우 대인관계가 조절된 매개효과로서 역할을 하는지 살펴본 결과, 사회적 지지 중 정서적지지와 사회관련 지지에서는 대인관계가 유의한 조절된 매개효과를 나타냈지만, 도구적지지에서는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 토대로 전공불일치를 겪는 대학생들의 전공만족도를 높이기 위한 대학 및 사회적 차원의 대응방안 수립에 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

Abstract

Recently, our society is undergoing rapid changes towards a ‘knowledge-based society’ where ‘knowledge’ serves as both the hub of competitiveness in the market and the base of core competencies. However, today’s college students are experiencing a lot of confusions and conflicts in universities that are supposed to play a role as the cradle of creation of intellectual property. A considerable part of such confusions must be issues related to career, and this issue or problem must be resulted from the imbalance among aptitudes, values, and majors upon choosing their respective major, focusing on grades, economic situation and possibilities of future employment while disregarding their aptitudes or interests. The government and universities are required to avoid passive responses to the incompatibility with major of college students and provide active support to allow them to find a correct way of developing their career by seeking alternatives to improve their satisfaction with major based on the timely detection of a variety of environmental and psychological factors. This study was intended to approach general verification of environmental and psychological factors as well as socio-relational factors such as an interpersonal relationship by not only inquiring into the influential relationship among the social support, which is a tangible and intangible resource obtainable from the external environment, together with self-efficacy and satisfaction with major, but also examining mediating effects of an interpersonal relationship, which is a social factor. The research analysis results can be summarized as follows: Firstly, social support exerted a significant influential relationship on self-efficacy and satisfaction with major of college students, while self-efficacy, which is an important mediating factor of this study, also gave a significant effect on satisfaction with major. Secondly, in the influential relationship between social support and satisfaction with major, the mediating effect of self-efficacy turned out to be statistically significant. Lastly, according to the inquiry to see if the interpersonal relationship plays a role as a controlled mediating effect in case social support gives an influence on self-efficacy, the interpersonal relationship displayed a significant controlled mediating effect in the emotional support and society-related support in terms of social support. On the other hand, it turned out that it was not significant in instrumental support. Based on the results of the research, this study aims to provide basic materials required for establishing corresponding measures at the level of university and society, in order to increase satisfaction with major of college students who undergo incompatibility with their major.
