'장애예술'과 '장애인예술' 용어 속 함의 탐색

예술인은 예술활동을 하는 사람인데 장애인이 하는 예술을 ‘장애예술’ 또는 ‘장애인예술’로 혼재되어 사용하고 있다. ‘장애예술’과 ‘장애인예술’ 사이에는 그동안 장애인계에서 경험하지 못한 큰 차이가 존재한다. 장애인이 하는 체육은 그 어떤 논란도 없이 ‘장애인체육’이라고 하면서 왜 예술에는 ‘장애예술’과 ‘장애인예술’이 논쟁을 하는 것일까? 문헌 연구에서 ‘장애인예술’은 장애인이 주체가 되기 때문에 장애인이 하는 예 술이라는 한정적 개념으로 복지나 재활의 과정으로 고정하게 되는 결과를 초래하 고, ‘장애예술’은 장애·비장애 구분 없이 모든 예술활동으로의 확장성이 있어서 ‘장애예술’이 훨씬 발전적이라는 논리를 만들었지만, 아서 단토(Arthur Danto)가 제시한 본질의 원칙과 예술의 판단 기준에서 볼 때 이 이론은 극히 일부에만 해당 된다. 그래서 본고에서는 ‘장애예술’과 ‘장애인예술’의 차이가 무엇인지 살펴보기 위해 장애와 장애인의 사용 용도와 예술의 본질에서 두 개념을 분석하고, 용어 정 의에 따른 해석과 용어 형태에 따른 해석을 통해 ‘장애예술’과 ‘장애인예술’용 어 속 함의를 탐색하여 바람직한 이론용어를 제안하고자 한다.
Abstract
Artists are the persons who do artistic activities, but art done by disabled persons has been mixed and used as disability art or disabled art. There is a big difference between disability art and disabled art, which has not been experienced by them in their world in the meantime. Physical education by disabled persons is called disability sport without any controversy. But why are disability art and disabled art debated ? In literature review, disabled art brings about a result to be fixed as a process of welfare or rehabilitation as the limited concept of art by them because they become the main agent. And for disability art, the logic that is more developmental because of expandability as all the artistic activities without distinction of disability or non-disability was built. However, by standards of the principle of nature and artistic judgement presented Arthur Danto, the theory is applicable to very few of them. Therefore, in order to examine what the differences between disability art and disabled arts are, this thesis tries to explore implications in disputes about the two concepts by analyzing them from a viewpoint of purposes and the artistic essence of disability and disabled persons, present interpretations according to the definition and form of the terms, and seek desirable directions of the controversy over disability art and disabled art that have recently been the topic by examining which concept is truly needed for disabled artists.
