용천요는 중국 요업사 상 가장 중요한 요장 중 하나로 근 천년에 걸쳐 생산된 중국 고대청자의 최전성기 전형으로 꼽힌다. 그 문화가 풍부하고 생산 규모가 커 남북요업의 문화교류와 융합의 본보기이자 중국 청자 공예발전의 역사의 집성이다. 용천요는 국내에서 널리 사용이 이루어졌는데, 궁정귀족에게 사랑을 받은 것은 물론 서민에게도 널리 쓰였다. 이 뿐만 아니라 수출용으로 대량 소비되어 세계 문명에 매우 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 근 백 년 동안 용천요의 고고학적 조사와 발굴, 특히 신세기 들어 수많은 고고학적 작업이 진행되면서 충분한 데이터가 축적되어 용천요의 발생․발전․쇠락의 전 과정을 알 수 있다.
Abstract
Longquanyao(龍泉窯) is one of the most important kiln factory of development of kiln industry in China and is considered the epitome of the glory days of ancient Chinese celadon produced over nearly a millennium. The culture is rich and the size of production is large, which is a model for cultural exchange and convergence of kiln industry of North and South and the history of Chinese celadon craft development. Longquanyao was widely used in China, not only by the royal family, but also by the common people. In addition, it was consumed in large quantities for export, which had a great impact on world civilization. With the archaeological investigation and excavation of Longquanyao for nearly a hundred years, especially as numerous archaeological works have been carried out in the New Century, sufficient data have been accumulated to reveal the entire process of Longquanyao’s occurrence, development and decline.
