경찰관의 외상사건 경험이 외상 후 스트레스 장애(PTSD)에 미치는 영향 : 부산광역시 경찰관을 대상으로

본 연구는 최근 증가하고 있는 경찰관의 외상 후 스트레스 장애(PTSD)의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 연구의 방향과 제도적 개선을 위한 기초자료로 연구되었다. 경찰관은 직무 특성상 직⋅간접적으로 외상사건 경험에 노출되어 있다. 외상사건을 경험한 경찰관은 외상 후 스트레스 장애를 겪게 될 확률이 매우 높다. 외상사건을 경험한 경찰관은 우울, 불안, 공황장애, 강박, 공격성, 자해, 회피 등 심리적 불안감을 안게 된다. 이런 불안감은 경찰관의 직무, 가족, 친지 등 주변환경에 부정적인 영향을 미치고 경찰관은 자기통제를 상실하게 될 가능성이 높아진다. 외상사건으로 나타나는 여러 증상은 외상 후 스트레스 장애 진단 기준을 제시하고 있다. 외상 후 스트레스 장애는 회피, 침습, 과각성 증상으로 진단기준이 마련되어 있다. 해외에서는 외상사건경험에 자주 노출되는 경찰관을 대상으로 외상 후 스트레스 장애에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 반면에 국내에서는 외상 후 스트레스 장애를 선별하는 검사지의 방법론적 연구, 기초적인 실태조사, 위험군 분류, PTSD에 대한 인구사회학적 인식차이 조사에 머무르는 수준이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 외상사건경험과 외상 후 스트레스 장애 요인관의 인과관계를 검증하여 기존의 연구를 좀 더 확장하는 데 있다. 부산 지역의 경찰관을 대상으로 외상 후 스트레스 장애와 외상사건과의 인과관계를 조사한 결과, 외상 후 스트레스 장애 요인에 영향을 미치는 외상사건은 화재교통사고로 나타났다. 특히, 화재교통사고와 같은 외상사건은 외상 후 스트레스 장애 요인 중 회피에 가장 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the direction of the study and the basic data for institutional improvement to solve the problems of post - traumatic stress disorder of police officers. Police officers are directly or indirectly exposed to traumatic experience due to their job characteristics. Police officers who experienced trauma events are highly likely to experience post-traumatic stress disorder. Police officers who experience trauma experience psychological anxiety such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, obsession, aggression, self-harm, avoidance, and assault. These anxieties have a negative impact on police officers 'duties, family, and friends' surroundings. And the police officer loses his control. Many symptoms that appear as traumatic events suggest criteria for posttraumatic stress disorder. Post - traumatic stress disorder is diagnosed by avoidance, invasion, and awakening symptoms. Research on post - traumatic stress disorder has been actively conducted for police officers who are often exposed to traumatic experiences overseas. In Korea, on the other hand, there is a difference in the methodological researches, the basic survey, the classification of risk groups, and the difference of perceptions of the post - traumatic stress disorder.Therefore, the purpose of this study is to expand the existing research by examining the causal relationship between experience of trauma events and posttraumatic stress disorder factors. As a result of the causal relationship between post - traumatic stress disorder and traumatic events, trauma cases affecting post - traumatic stress disorder factors were found to be fire traffic accidents. In particular, trauma events such as fire traffic accidents were found to have the greatest effect on avoidance of post - traumatic stress disorder factors.
