본 논문은 시스템적 교회 개척의 이론적 토대와 최근에 등장한 대표적인 이론들을 살펴보고, 그것에 비추어 한국형 교회 개척 시스템을 위한실마리를 찾아 분석, 제언하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 시스템적 개척을 위해서 제시된 세 가지 이론적 토대는 교회의 유기체성, 모달리티와 소달리티에 관한 논의, 성령의 역사와 자발성이다. 20세기 중반 교회성장학의등장과 함께 본격적으로 연구된 초기 교회 개척 이론들의 한계를 극복하고 효율적인 복음 확산을 위해 교회 개척 시스템을 제시한 이론가들은 케빈 매노이아와 로버트 로건이다. 이들의 이론은 부모 교회와 개척자에 대한 평가, 선발, 교육, 코칭 등을 체계적으로 하고 교단이나 지방회(노회)에 서 주관해야 한다는 점을 강조한다. 반면에 한국의 대표 사례들은 개 교회 중심적이고 비체계적인 특징을 보인다. 앞으로 세속화와 복음 저항성이 높아지는 현실에서 생존하고 성장하는 교회들을 세우기 위해서는 부모 교회의 분립을 비롯한 체계적인 개척 과정을 개발해야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the theoretical foundations of systematic church planting and the representative theories that have emerged in recent years, and to analyze and make suggestions for a Korean church planting system in light of them. The three theoretical foundations proposed for systematic church planting are the organismality of the church, the discussion of modality and sodality, and the work and spontaneity of the Holy Spirit. Kevin W. Mannoia and Robert E. Logan are two theorists who proposed church planting systems to overcome the limitations of earlier church planting theories that were studied in earnest with the advent of church growth in the mid-twentieth century, and to spread the gospel more effectively. Their theories emphasize that the assessment, selection, training, and coaching of parent churches and planters should be systematic and organized by the denomination or local assembly (presbytery). On the other hand, the Korean examples are characterized as local church-centric and unsystematic. In order to establish churches that can survive and grow in the face of increasing secularization and gospel resistance, a systematic planting process, including the separation of parent churches, needs to be developed.
