본 연구는 복부 온열요법이 대장내시경검사 대상자의 복부 팽만감 및 통증에 미치는 효과를 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 비동등성 대조군 전후 시차 설계의 유사 실험연구로 연구 대상자는 B시 소재 일 병원의 종합검진센타 내시경실에서 대장내시경검사를 받은 자로서 실험군 29명과 대조군 29명으로 총 58명이었다. 연구결과에서 복부 온열요법을 적용받은 실험군은 대조군보다 주관적 복부 팽만감 점수가 낮았으며, 복부둘레 변화가 적었으며, 대장내시경검사 소요시간이 적게 걸렸으나 통증점수는 차이가 없었다. 따라서 본연구의 온열요법은 대장내시경 검진자들이 보다 편안하고 덜 고통스럽게 검사를 할 수 있게 하는 효과적이고 간편한 중재로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 복부 온열요법의 효과를 평가하기 위한 추후연구에서는 대상자의 비만 정도, 특히 복부비만을 고려한 연구, 대장내시경검사 후 시간의 흐름에 따른 복부 팽만감 및 통증의 정도를 조사하는 연구, 대장내시경검사 대상자를 위한 근거기반 간호지침을 마련하기 위해서는 반복연구를 제언한다.
Abstract
Purpose: The purpose o this study was to identify the effects of thermotherapy on abdominal distension and pain during colonoscopy. Methods: This study used a nonequivalent control group and a non-synchronize design. 29 participants were assigned in an experimental group and 29 in the control group. For the experimental group, electronic heating pad was applied before test throughout the entire procedure. Results: Abdominal distension, pain and total time required for colonoscopy significantly were lower in the experimental group than those in the control group. Conclusion: The results suggest that thermotherapy can be effective to improve abdominal distension, pain and colonoscopy time in patients with colonoscopy. Therefore, thermotherapy can be recommended for those patients undergoing of colonoscopy.
