본 연구는 응급실 간호사를 대상으로 노인학대 인식과 법적·제도적 지식, 노인학대 개입에 대한 태도, 주관적 규범, 자기효능감이 노인학대 개입의도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 서술적 상관관계연구이며, 연구대상자는 연구에 동의한 대상자로 대학병원과 종합병원에 근무하는 응급실 간호사 209명이다. 응급실 간호사의 노인학대 개입의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 응급실 간호사들의 노인학대 개입의도에 영향을 미치는 요인들로는 노인학대 인식, 법적·제도적 지식, 노인학대에 대한 태도, 주관적 규범으로 확인되었으며, 특히 노인학대 인식이 가장 높은 영향요인으로 확인되었다. 본 연구결과는 응급실 간호사를 대상으로 노인학대에 대한 인식을 높이는 교육이 필요하며, 병원조직 차원에서의 노인학대 대상자의 확인 및 중재를 위한 구체적인 전략이 요구됨을 시사한다.
Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the factors influencing intention of intervening towards elder abuse among nurses in the emergency department. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive design was used. A convenience sample of 209 emergency room nurses working in university hospitals and general hospitals completed the questionnaires. Multiple regression analysis was performed to examine predictors of intention of intervening towards elder abuse. Result: Awareness of elder abuse, legal and institutional knowledge, attitude, subjective norm, and self-efficacy were positively correlated to the intention of intervening towards elder abuse, followed by subjective norm and attitude. Conclusion: The findings suggest that it is necessary to educate emergency room nurses in order to improve awareness and knowledge of elder abuse. From the nursing practice and hospital organization level, specific interventions and strategies to increase the assessment and intervention of elder abuse are needed.
