본 연구는 출연연구기관 연구책임자의 과제 포트폴리오 규모가 중소기업과의 기술협력 성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 중소기업과 출연연구기관의 기술협력에 대한 정책적 지원이나 학술적 관심이 증가하고 있으나 중소기업 기술협력의 성과는 기대에 미치지 못하고 있다. 선행연구들은 기술협력의 성과영향 요인으로 기술협력 과제의 기술적 특성이나 기술협력 과정에서의 관리방식에 초점을 두었다. 본 연구에서는 중소기업과 협력하는 출연연 연구책임자의 과제 포트폴리오 규모가 성과에 미치는 영향과 과거 기술협력 경험의 조절효과를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 출연연 연구책임자의 과제 포트폴리오 규모와 성과간의 관계는 비선형적 영향관계를 보였다. 또한 과거 협력경험 유형에 따라 상이한 비선형적 영향관계를 보였다. 마지막으로 중소기업과 출연연구기관간의 기술협력 성과 증진을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the effects of the portfolio size of partner’s project leader on technological cooperation performances. Although there are increasing interest and efforts of technological collaborations between private firms and public research institutes, the performance of technological collaboration between SMEs and public research organizations have been less than expectation. Prior studies on technological collaborations have focused on the technical characteristics of project and management practices in the development processes. In this study, we analyzed the influence of the characteristics of the project leader of public research institute on the performance of technological collaborations. Based on survey data, there are curvilinear relationships between portfolio size of partner’s project leader and technological cooperation performance of SMEs. Also prior technological collaboration experience moderated curvilinear relationships. This study suggests practical implications and policy recommendations to enhance technological collaboration performances between SMEs and public research institutes.
