초등학교 다문화미술교육 방향 탐색을 위한 초등교사 인식에 관한 연구

Abstract

This research has monitored the teachers' general perception on the subject of multicultural art education, through the survey of site teachers who are teaching art in Korean primary schools. And through this process, the research targets to suggest the contents, methods and goals of the future multi-cultural art education. The research analyzed 202 survey results. The questionnaires were comprised of 10 questions, of which, four were free writing type questions and six were multiple choice type questions. All the free writing answers were fully recorded and analyzed through the process of coding. The general perception of teachers on multicultural art education was measured through the frequency analysis of the multiple choice type answers. In conclusion, most teachers were well aware of the subject of multi-cultural art education and the difference between multi-cultural art education and the existing art education. The contents and the necessity of multi-cultural art education were fully understood, but many difficulties arose on the site teaching of multi-cultural art. These were due to a lack of the knowledge of multi-culture concepts, lack of training and the lack of materials on multicultural art teaching. In addition the teachers lacked the understanding of how to solve previously listed problems at the site level. Suggestions were made that national level multi-cultural art education curriculum should be developed. Goals and content of multi-cultural art education should be systematically introduced along side an appropriate multi-cultural art teaching and study program. Teachers thought that the most effective way is to apply the new study model matching with multi-cultural art education and to do it through the experience learning.
