본 논문은 스톱모션 애니메이션 제작 과정에서 영상 내러티브의 이미지적 분위기를 결정짓는 중요한 요소 중 하나인 조명과 빛의 표현기법에 관한 연구이다. 애니메이션 제작에서 빛에 대한 연출은 최종 영상 이미지를 표현하는데 큰 비중을 차지하고 있으며, 시간적, 공간적, 의미적 요소 등에서 장면의 정보를 효과적으로 전달하는 수단이 된다. 본 논문에서는 스톱모션 애니메이션 <Big city night>에서 연출된 조명기법을 분석하여 각 상황에 맞는 조명맵을 구성하고 이를 데이터화 하였다. 향후 스톱모션 애니메이션 연출에 있어서 창의적이고 효과적인 조명 사용을 통해 연출자가 원하는 이미지 표현을 을 용이하게 하는데 도움을 주고자 하며, 독특한 예술 형식으로써 자리 매김한 스톱모션 애니메이션의 창조적 화면 연출을 위한 조명 사용법 폭넓은 수용을 통해 애니메이션의 발전에 이바지 하려는 연구 목적이 있다.
Abstract
The objective of this dissertation is to investigate the expression technique of light shown in role and scene of illumination in the composition of stop motion animation screen. The lighting in stop- motion animation is to convey information of the scene, such as time and space elements of the scene. Creating the available lihgt in stop motion animation increases the realism. The data in this thesis are basically from the lighting techniques for each situation through the analysis of lighting techniques on the major scenes of stop-motion animation <Big city night>. The objective of this study is to help stop motion animation producer using illumination creatively and effectively later and to contribute the development of animation by accepting the illumination theory for peculiar and creative screen of stop motion animation as image art
