초록

Mobility as a Service (MaaS)

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) implementation on the mode shift to shared micromobility for first- and last-mile (FLM) travel and its potential for carbon reduction. A stated preference survey was conducted targeting public transit users under a hypothetical MaaS introduction scenario to examine changes in their intentions to use shared micromobility for FLM trips. Based on the survey data, latent consumer groups were identified through clustering, and their characteristics were analyzed using a multinomial logit model. The environmental benefits associated with changes in mode choice were also estimated. The results show that consumers with lower incomes, prior micromobility experience, and an active lifestyle are more likely to newly adopt or increase their use of shared micromobility under MaaS. Their mode shift is expected to reduce car use, leading to an estimated 28.7% reduction in carbon emissions. When converted into economic benefits based on the carbon price, this is equivalent to approximately 5.3 billion KRW per year. This study provides empirical evidence that promoting shared micromobility within MaaS can contribute to enhancing urban transport sustainability and offers useful insights for policy design.
