기록학 실천주의(Archival Activism)의 과제와 전망 - 월가점령운동 기록화 사례를 중심으로

최근 기록학계에는 배제된 소수의 기록화와 사회정의 실현이라는 관점에서 공동체, 일상, 정치사회적 운동, 인권 등에 대한다양한 기록화 논의가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 기록학 실천주의는근래 들어 새로이 형성되었다기보다 이미 1960년대 후반부터 학문적·사회적 영향에 따라 변모되어왔다. 최근의 기록학 실천주의는 디지털 환경과 맞물려 기관, 지역을 넘어서 전세계적, 주류/비주류를 아우르는 모양새로 다방면에서 진행중이다. 일어나지말았어야 할 4.16참사는 우리나라 기록공동체에게도 여러 과제를안겨주었다. 증거, 치유의 기록에 대한 성찰적 접근이 필요한 시기이다. 이 글은 월가점령운동의 기록화 사례를 통해 동시대 기록화에 대한 과제에 시사점을 찾아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 기록학 실천주의의 개념, 그 기원과 의미의 발전과정을 살펴보고 월가점령운동의 기록화 활동 사례를 통해 기록학 실천주의를 수행하는 기록전문직의 역할에 대한 함의를 찾고자 한다.
Abstract
issues about community, everyday life, political and social movement andhuman rights are under discussion focusing on minorities’ documentationand implementation of social justice. Those issues are especially focused ondocumentation about minorities and implementation of social justice. TheseArchival Activism is evolved from academic and social influence since thelate 1960s rather than recent changes. The recent Archival Activism isunder way in various fields and forms that encompasses both aspects ofthe mainstream/fringe groups over the world beyond organizations andareas. 4.16 disaster put archival community in korea many challenges. Nowis the time to approach with reflections on records of evidence and heal. This study seeks contemporary documentation’s assignments through thedocumentation case of Occupy Wall Street Movement. Firstly, it examineson concept of Archival Activism, origins, and developments. And Based onthe documentation case of Occupy Wall Street Movement, it investigates arole of the archival profession carrying out Archival Activism.
