호남 역사문화 원형 개발ㆍ활용 현황 연구 - 광주전남지역을 중심으로 -

Abstract

This study examines the current development and utilization of historic-cultural resources of Gwangju city and Chonnam province and an alternative to their problems. Today the historic-cultural resources are developed and utilized in three ways. One is to develop the historical and cultural sources on the basis of digital; another is to develop either festivals or historic-cultural spaces as a place-marketing strategy; and the other is to develop cultural goods which are aimed at nationwide on-line and off-line markets beyond the regional limit. The following alternative is proposed to get over the limitations of current developmental processes. First, historiccultural resources should be uniquely recognized. Among other things, historic-cultural resources should be dealt with upon academically exhaustive documentation, for they are of educational goal. In particular, this form of resources are of educational contents, and so the hasty and clumsy combination of resources will lead to a fearful damage to regional identity as well as a twist of history. Second, government-controlled development should be avoided, aiming at development guided by local main groups on their own ways. Too much government control can bring about objectified residents, which will lead to the disperse of regional integration and solidarity. Residents’autonomous self-organizational activities should go on without stopping, based on the characteristics of regional historic-cultural resources. When this creates life culture, the space will naturally lead to placeness.
