본 논문은 현대 미학이론을 통해 제기된 촉각에 관한 논의로부터 출발하여 현대 음악에서 등장하는 새로운 음악의 형태가 어떻게 이러한 논의와관련 맺게 되는지를 탐구한다. 음악에 있어서 촉각의 문제는 그동안 그다지많이 다루어지지 않은 주제이다. 더구나 예술에서 촉각에 관한 이론적 탐구는 무엇보다도 시각과 관련해 전개되어 왔다. 따라서 촉각의 문제를 다루기위해서는 음악적 주제라 해도 시각예술과 관련한 주제의 논의를 통하는 것이 필요하다. 실제로 이러한 우회는 실험적 태도 안에서 현대 음악이 소유하게 된 복합적 또는 탈장르적 차원을 드러낼 수 있다는 점에서 유용한 접근법이 될 수 있다. 주어진 주제를 위해 본 연구는 일차적으로 발터벤야민에서 드러나는 촉각tactile에 대한 문제를 중심으로 하여 죤케이지John Cage 의 음악에서 드러나는 촉각 또는 헵틱에 관련한 문제를 다루고자 한다. 분석의 예로는 그가 60년대에 TV를 통해 선보인 퍼포먼스인 <Water Walk>이다.
Abstract
This article is to study on the question of the haptic specially in the circle of the contemporary music, based on the aesthetic theory which try to answers on the problem of haptic. To find the field which will guide us to study this question, music and haptic, we intend to examine some theory of aesthetic in modern time, as a first step we study the Walter Benjamin's idea on tactile knowledge, developed in his reflection on film and architecture, urbanism, and also distracted preception. And on reference on his theory w'll analyse even briefly a music or a very short performance of John Cage <Water walk> presented in 1960 on TV show 'I've got a secret'.
