초록

This paper used the frame originating in cognitive science as a tool to analyze Park Yongrae’s poetry. A reader constructs a semantic network out of experience, while reading a frame appearing in a poem. This signification represents a schema. Therefore, grasping the meaning of a frame is the work of connecting diverse schematic networks. An invisible meaning in a work is revealed in such a process of connecting semantic networks. Therefore, in literature, the frame actualizes the meaning of a work. The frame, which is recognized as a framework to see the world, positions an object in a stereotype, and emphasizes the meaning. The basic premise of literature starts with the frame that human thinks in language. Poetic diction appearing in a poem generates a frame inside a narrator, and at this time, the frame primarily represents things faced in the outside world. In the frame of increase and restructuring, the narrator applies the frames to trivial objects in daily life. As objects increase, the frame results in one frame called self within the world. This is the writer’s intention to strengthen the whole frame, and is work to expand meaning. Park Yongrae’s poetry is characterized by the large width of blank space. Work to fill the blank space is a series of signification presented above. On this wise, Park Yongrae forms a semantic network by filling the blank spaces of small frames. The frame of disruption and refreshment is realized when restriction exists. For the real world of the narrator functions as restraint. At this time, the narrator is a narrator shut up in a frame of the world. The narrator changes the frame from disruption to counterbalance. At this time, if the speaker’s will appear, a possible positive world opens. In contrast, if the speaker cannot break away from the frame of reality, the frame of disruption and counterbalance continues to appear, and thus the level of grief is emphasized.
