'동아시아' 담론의 문제와 가능성-30년대 '동양' 담론과의 비교를 중심으로-

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is a critical investigation of recent important studies on early modern literature of Korea. I would to make inquiries into the methodology of those and deduce a possible course of the future study on Korean modern literature. For the purpose of showing trends of studies, I classified those into two types tentatively which were historical approaches to styles of Korean modern literature and genealogical approaches to process of constructing the system of modern literature in Korea. The former has captured the distinctive features among the various styles of narrative and researched the development of Korean modern novel. The latter has given attention to correlation between early modern literature and the then discourse, and brought out unique properties of 1900’s through a unconventional angle on problem. In the first place each study is different in methodological basis. Besides each restricts the ideological or stylistic features of 1910’s literary history. And yet these two subjects implicate constructive meanings in studying on Korean modern literature: it is necessary that each should dispute reciprocally on the possibility of new theorization, and moreover, it must be pointed to innovative practices ahead in studying on the history of Korean modern literature.
