초록
Unlike the general atmospheric boundary layer, wind characteristics of a typhoon are heavily depending on the meteorological features of the typhoon itself. In particular, surface wind due to the typhoon is influenced by variety of meteorological and geospatial parameters, and yet unknown to a great extent. In the this paper. we presented the applicability of the SPH (Standard Project Hurricane) model to obtained surface wind profile during the typhoons affecting Korea. The input variables to the SPH model include a storm's translation speed, heading, radius of maximum winds, and central pressure depth. As an example, the radius of maximum winds is estimated on the distributions of wind speed observed on the surface during typhoon NARI(2007). The central pressure depth is calculated by examining the patten of the sea level pressures. By applying the SPH model with estimated parameters, the surface wind speed as well as local wind direction are estimated and compared with the measurements. According to the results, the estimation can only be applied with marginal errors while the strength of the typhoon holds.
