Abstract
The expression pattern of HBcAg and HBsAg in the liver of 67 serum HBsAg positive and 21 serum anti-HCV positive patients were studied by immunohistichemical stain method (Avidin-bioton conjugate). The sensitivity and specificity of immunohistochemocal stain were compared with those of victoria blue stain and the results are as follows. 1. The expression of HBcAg and HBsAg in liver were 46.3%(31cases) and 100% of serum HBsAg positive patients by immunohistochemical stain. 2. Victoria blue stain showed positive reaction in 83.6%(56cases) of serum HBsAg positive patients. Most of victoria blue negative cases showed memgranouses expression of HBsAg by immunohistochemical stain. 3. The expression pattern of HBsAg and HBcAg in the liver were type Ⅱ(3.0%), type Ⅲ(46.3%) and type Ⅳ(50.7%) and the major expression pattern of inactive carrier was type Ⅲ. 4. All cases of serum anti-HCV positive and HBsAg negative patients showed negative reaction by victoria blue stain and immunohistochemical stain for HBsAg and HBcAg. In conclusion, Immunohistichemistry and victoria blue stain evaluated to the specific method for HBcAg and HBsAg. Immunohistochemical stain is necessary to study expression of hepatitis B virus maker, because of the sensitivity of victoria blua is 83.6% and lower than that of immunohistochemical stain.
