Abstract

Applications of regression analysis exist in almost every field. Regression analysis is a statistical technique used to find relationships between variables for the purpose of predicting future values. The most commonly performed statistical procedure in clinical laboratory is multiple regression analysis. The goal of regression analysis is to determine the values of parameters for a function that cause the function to best fit a set of data observations that you provide. In linear regression, the function is a linear (straight-line) equation. Lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme that helps produce energy by converting lactic acid to pyruvic acid during the metabolic process. It is present in almost all of the tissues in the body and becomes elevated in response to cell damage. LDH level is measured in the blood. The results of comparative regression test that is studied on lactic dehydrogenase tests in clinical chemistry were follows. The regression equation was y=1.1265x + 2.5874 for the Bayer kit assay method (y) vs. the BM kit method (x) with test sample covered working range in both kits in case of using samples from low to high value. We are sure that the intercept of sample covering in low, medium and high value less than sample covering in medium and high value for analytical measurement range.
