Abstract
Determination of GFR has clinical importance: to assess renal functional state in patients with known or suspected nephro - urological disorders ; to monitor changes of renal mass and function in the course of kidney diseases ; to predict postoperative residue function in patients where unilateral nephrectomy is planned ; and to calaulate the dose for potentially toxic drugs excreted via the kidneys. In the past few decades, a large number of methods for measuring glomerular filtration rate (GFR) have been developed in a relentless search for a more accurate and/or more simplified technique. A single injection method has replaced the constant infusion technique, urine collection is unnecessary, and the number of blood samples required has been reduced to two or less one of the most attractive methods currently available is the estimation of renal clearance using a single blood sample. This method, also called the volume distribution method, is the least invasive, the easiest to perform , and yields highly accurate results. In this study, we measured GFR using a 51Cr - EDT A single plasma sample method and compared between one sample method and two sample method. We evaluated glomerular filtration rate using 51Cr - EDT A one sample method. The results of GFR obtained were as follows : Correlation 1) Infant(comparison between 2hrs and 2/4hrs) 80~140 ml/min/1.73㎡ ; R = 0.961(N = 29) below 80; R=0.929(N = 23) above 140 ; R = 0.962(N = 13) Thus estimated good correlation 2) Adult(comparison between 3hrs and 3/5hrs) 80~140 ml/min/1.73㎡ ; R = 0.958(N = 31) below 80 ; R = 0.917(N = 36) above 140 ; R = 0.730(N = 30) Y = -23.4 + 1.114X Y = 18.0 + 0.608X Y = - 92.4 + 1.626X Thus estimated good correlation in below 140(ml/min/1.73㎡) but bad correlation in above 140.
