Abstract
Isolations of Escherichia coli, 37 (18.2%) from the domestic utensils of dish-clothes, kitchen knives and boards in Iksan, Chonbuk area, which were isolated from August to October of 1995, were tested for bactericidal effects against E. coli. and other isoaltes. Following results were obtained : First, as results of washing them with heated water at 65℃ and 75℃, respectively, 65℃ had a bactericidal effect against E. coli on only plastic boards while both of plastic and wooden boards were sterilized at 75℃. Second, bactericidal effects against E. coli was shown only in the case of sunlight irradiation for 90 minutes, but its was not shown in it for 60 minutes. Third, the bactericidal effects against E. co /i in the case of one time concentration of sodium hypochloride was shown only in the Plastic boards, while those in the two times concentrations of sodium hypochloride were shown at both of Plastic and wooden boards. Fourth, the bactericidal effect against Salmonella enteritidis about drying of dish towels were shown best in the expose of sunlight for 240 minutes and but does not have effects for 180 monutes. Fifth, eight isolates (4%) among the 200 samples taken from dish towels yielded growth of the s. enteritidis. Sixth, bactericidal effects of dish towels. against S. enteritidis were the highest when they were boiled at l00℃ for 2-3 minutes.
