Abstract
From Januruy of 1998 to April of 1999, compared the cause of eosinophilia with eosinophil, sex, age and a routine blood count according to the cause. The testing group was the admission patients and the outpatients (149 persons) of Chungbuk National university hospital of Chungchung buk-do, whose eosinophilia of peripheral blood was above 20% of total leukocyte. And Ⅰ came to the conclusion like followings. (1) There were 106 males (71.1 %) and 43 females (28.9%) in the testing group. (2) The age was widely distributed from 1 year old to 81 years old. The average age was 52 years old. In the case of male, the average age was 51, and in the case of female, the average age was 53. (3) The cause of eosinophilia increase could be estimated and confirmed only in the 110 persons of the total 149 persons. And 33 persons had a malignant disease like tumor, which was the largest group. (4) When Ⅰ first diagnosed them, there was no significant difference in the hemoglobin, platelet number, leukocyte number, eosinophil percentage, eosinophil counts between the cause diagnosed group and the unaccountable group. (5) Although eosinophil percentage of the testing group was high (27%), the average of leukocyte number was normal (about 7,400⁄mm3). (6) Eosinophilia modulus was like followings. the hepatobilliruy diseases, chronic disease, infection, a allergic disease, the parasite infection. Until these days, much interest in eosinophil increase has been shown at home and abroad and the study outcome is being much reported on the clinical consideration of eosinophil increase. But Ⅰ think it is necessruy to study and exam the various Kinds of causes harder than before.
