반코마이신에 대한 감수성이 저하된 황색포도구균에 대한 반코마이신과 각종 항균제들의 병합 효과 비교

Abstract

Combination effects of various beta-lactam antibiotics with vancomycin against methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) which were detected as hetero-vancomycin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (hetero-VRSA) by Mu 3-medium method, were evaluated. 24 MRSA strains of 22 inpatients, isolated in Dankook University Hospital from July-November 1998, were subjected to the study. MICs of antibiotics, alone or in combination, were tested with the agar dilution method. And fractional inhibitory concentration index (FIC index) were calculated to estimate the combination effect. The average FIC index of imipenem, cephalothin, flomoxef, cefpirome, arbekacin in combination with vancomycin was 0.608, 0.682, 0.743, 0.811, 0.840 respectively. So that we concluded that in most cases, beta-lactam antibiotic with vancomycin show relatively effective against hetero-VRSA, considering that their avearage FIC index was close to 0.5. We thought that the combination of vancomycinwith imipenem is useful and recommendable choice of therapy in MRSA infection.
