왜 지역축제에 참가하지 않는가?비참여자의 장소애착도와 여가제약이론을 중심으로

초록

한국 지역축제는 90년대 이후 주요한 관광대상으로서 급속한 성장을 하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재 문제점으로 지적되고 있는 것이 지역주민의 참여가 부족하다는 것이다. 지역주민이 자신의 축제에 참가하여 즐거워하고 지역의 가치와 자랑거리를 나누려는 노력이 축제의 생명력이 될 수 있다. 본 연구목적은 자신들의 지역축제를 방문하지 않은 주민들을 대상으로 장소애착도 이론과 여가제약이론을 검증하고, 방문의도와의 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 여가제약이론은 여가활동으로서 지역주민의 축제참가에 이르는 과정을 설명할 수 있으며, 장소애착도 이론은 장소적 특성과 지역 주민의 장소에 대한 정서를 대변한다. 우선 평균분석을 통해 제약과 장소애착도의 정도를 분석한 결과, ‘정보성’, ‘구조편의성’, ‘차별성’, ‘흥미성’의 순으로 제약을 많이 느끼고 있었다. 장소애착도 요인 중에서는 지역에 대한 ‘정체성’을 ‘인적 관계성’ 보다 긍정적으로 생각하고 있었다. 내년도 방문의도에 미치는 영향 분석결과에서는 제약이론 중 ‘흥미성’, 애착도 이론 중 ‘지역 정체성’이 지역주민들의 참가의도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 분석되었다. 마지막으로 분석결과를 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This paper investigates the behavioral intentions of non-visitor at their regional festival based on two theories, leisure constraints and place attachment. The items for measuring constraints and place attachment at the regional festival were developed and modified by the literature. There are some factors were analyzed as constraints which are information, structural convenience, program uniqueness, and interests. The results of regression analysis show that constraints of interests and place identity influence on visit intentions for next festival. These findings suggest some useful implications for the festival planning and management.
