초록

This research examines the interplay between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and leadership morality on corporate reputation. To understand consumer responses to mixed signals regarding CSR from the CEO and the firm, we employ social identity theory and attribution theory. Our study reveals a significant impact of leadership morality on corporate reputation. The result of scenario-based experiment of 146 respondents indicates that morally questionable leadership sends a negative signal on firm warmth, and it negatively affects the attribution of CSR motives, and corporate hypocrisy, and detrimentally affects corporate reputation. It highlights the crucial role of leadership morality in pursuit of a company's commitment to CSR.
