Abstract
The relationship between spirituality and personality is a growing area of interest in today's society. Traditional therapeutic movements, such as behavioral and psychoanalytic approaches, were established up mechanistic and naturalistic conceptual foundation that deliberately excluded spiritual perspectives. Since the middle 1970's and through the 1980's the holistic researchers have called for more formal research in human spirituality, particularly in the areas of human development, education, and health care. Significant religious involvement can be a positive correlate of normal personal function- ing. The article has observed that the part of life that is now neglected is the life of the spirit and that the therapeutic community can be of greatest help to people by offering them an opportunity to get in touch with their spiritual nature. Jung emphasized the autonomous or authentic religious function in the unconscious mind and has shown that the psyche possesses by nature a religious function. Religious experience or Spirituality comes from a basic construct or schema of personality.
