기독교대학에 대학교회가 존재하는 이유가 무엇이며, 어떤 모습으로존재해야 하는가? 이 질문에 대한 답을 찾음으로써 대학교회의 존재이유와 오늘의 사명을 밝힐 수 있다. 기독교대학은 학문공동체의 하나이며, 대학교회는 예배공동체의 하나라는 차이를 갖고 있다. 그 차이에도불구하고 그 둘이 갖는 공통점이 있다. 그것은 선교적 사명으로 기독교대학은 학문 활동을 통해, 교회는 예배와 봉사를 통해 하나님의 나라를이 땅에 실현하게 된다. 그러기에 대학과 교회는 선교적 사명을 위해서로 협력하는 것이 공통적 의무이며, 각 공동체를 생명력 있게 만들수 있게 한다. 이 글에서는 위에서 제기한 관계설정을 기초로 한남대학교회의 과거와 현재 그리고 미래를 정리한다. 왜 한남대학교회가 존재해야 하는지에 대해서는 설립취지와 과정, 특성과 비전을, 지금까지 학원선교를위해 어떤 활동을 해왔는지에 대해서는 역사적인 발자취를 통해 대학교회가 설정한 비전에 따른 활동들과 그것들이 학원선교에 끼친 영향들을 살펴보며, 그리고 앞으로 어떤 모습으로 존재해야 하는지에 대해서는 미래 대학교회의 바람직한 모습을 위한 과제를 알아본다. 이 글은 독자들이 개교회로서의 한남대학교회를 바로 이해하는 데도움이 될 것이며, 또한 다른 대학의 독특한 대학교회의 특성과 활동들을 이해함으로써 오늘의 대학교회들이 나아가야 할 방향 모색에 도움을 주게 될 것이다.
Abstract
What is the University Church’s reason for existence in a Christian university? Its response stimulates us to explore the University church’s task. There is a difference between the University Church and the Christian University, in that this is one of the academic communities while that is one of the worship communities. In spite of the difference,there is a common purpose in which both of them pursue accomplishing the Kingdom of God in the world. It is possible to enrich each other as well as cooperate with each other. Based on the relationship between them, the past, present, and future of the Hannam University Church are systemized. Its reason for being is drawn from its foundational purpose and process, and its features and visions. Its chronicle of activities shows its effect on the campus mission. Its future is found in its tasks. It enables us to get an insight into the distinctive features and activities of other university churches to understanding its organizations as a local congregation. In addition, it is possible to build a guidepost for the university churches’ future.
