근대 기행 담론 속의 기차와 차내 풍경- 1910∼20년대 기행문을 중심으로 -

Abstract

This thesis is studied for the aspect of foundation and extension of recognitions in korean modern(especially between 1910's and 1920's) In modern korea, traveling became the text of enlightenment, and travel as studying abroad was prevalent, and it's major method was a railway train. At that time, train was not only a transportation facility or a new machine, but also a symbol of modern which introduces civilization and transmits enlightenment. Railway traveling had reorganized the sensibility and had extended the cognitions of modern people. And the speed of train had shifted the concept of space-time. And the accuracy of railroad schedule had made people were obedient to the strict discipline of time. A passenger train was a reduced-size edition of colonialization by imperialist Japan's. The speed of train had made the scenery seen from a train window vanished rapidly, and had turned passengers' eyes upon the inner of train. In the train, modern korean had a tendency to lost in thought, and had build up their modern thought. In modern korea, train was a place which people build up their novel thought, cognition, and perception.
