경북 청도 지역어 어간말 모음 ‘이, 오, 우’의 음운현상 -모음의 완전순행동화의 개신파를 중심으로-

Abstract

This paper aims to study on the phonological phenomena related to vowels in Cheongdo Subdialect, focused on the assimilation of vowels affected by preceded vowel, the glide formation and the glide deletion in the verbal stems ended up ‘i, o, u’ vowels. If the verbal stems that their vowel of final syllable is ‘i’ are one syllable, there are several phonological phenomena, for example, the assimilation of vowels affected by preceded vowel, the glide formation and the glide deletion. But if the verbal stems that their vowel of final syllable is ‘i’ are two more syllable, there is generally the assimilation of vowels affected by preceded vowel. If the verbal stems that their vowel of final syllable is ‘o, u’ are one syllable, there are the assimilation of vowels affected by preceded vowel, the glide formation and the glide deletion. But if the verbal stems that their vowel of final syllable is ‘o, u’ are two more syllable, there isn’t the assimilation of vowels affected by preceded vowel. According to this fact, the assimilation of vowels affected by preceded vowel at the boundary of morpheme that generated from the southern area of Gyongnam first occurred in two syllabe stem with vowel ‘i’ at the final syllable, then it occurred in one syllabe stem with vowel ‘o, u’ at the final syllable.
