Abstract

Among the 32 styles of Manchu Zhuan Characters provided in the 13th Year of Qian‐long, 10 of them were used in the Emperors’ Seals which initiated a writing system both full of ethnic specialty and rich in number written side by side with Chinese Zhuan characters. This paper is the first one to research into the spelling errors in emperors’ seals of Qing Dynasty, and points out in detail the errors in seals for emperors’ wives, concubines and officials. This research intends to make a further understanding on the application of the characters.
